Hot Cardinal

I often say, you can't take a cool picture if you don't have your camera. That adage sure fits for the picture below.
I was sweeping the patio one morning and I had left a bottle of hot sauce on the table near some scattered bird seed. While filling my bird feeders, I experimented with hot sauce, splashing the stuff on the feeders to keep the squirrels away. Note to self. I does not work. I think if anything, the sauce attracted squirrels.
While I was sweeping 15 feet from the table, a cardinal flew up to investigate my bottle. I love cardinals. They are inquisitive, bold, territorial, and vocal. This male cardinal was lov'n my hot sauce (and the seeds) and it just so happened I had my camera near the BBQ grill. I had been taking butterfly pictures earlier.
Not to miss a photo-op, I grabbed my Canon (still equipped with my telephoto lens) and I started snapping shots. This one was really the only usable image, so I got lucky.
I wonder if Tabasco would like it for advertising purposes.
